Revenue from Brazilian poultry exports grows 13.6% in September

Brazilian exports of poultry (in natura and processed) generated revenues of USD 830.1 million in September, a 13.6% increase when compared to the same period of 2021. The data are from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).

Shipments reached 400,000 tons last month, a volume 4.4% lower than the recorded in September last year (418,500 tons).

“Since March, the sector has maintained an exports average above 400,000 tons per month. The sustained international demand for the Brazilian product is also reflected in the average monthly prices, which are 19% above what we saw in 2021”, says ABPA president, Ricardo Santin.

So far in 2022, the sector’s exports have totaled 3.666 million tons, a volume 5.8% higher than recorded between January and September 2021. In terms of revenue, the increase was of 31.1%, to USD 7.373 billion.

Among the main export destinations this year are the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, the European Union, South Korea and Mexico.
