FAO Food Price Index rise 1.1% in January

With record score in January, the FAO Food Price Index reached 135.7 points for that month, 1.1% higher than December and 19.6% higher than January 2021.

Vegetable oils and dairy products were responsible for the rise, with the oils rising 4.2% and dairy products 3.2%. The meat indicator showed a slight increase compared to December 2021, reaching 112.6 points.

Beef prices, supported by strong global demand and short supply, hit a new record at 132.32 points. In the last 12 months, the protein had a valuation of 29%.
