Brazilian beef exports more than double in October

Brazilian beef exports more than double in October, according to data released by the Ministry of Economy’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).

There were 188,600 tons of fresh beef (frozen and chilled) sold abroad last month, more than twice the volume of 82,200 tons exported in the same month last year. The daily average was 9,924 tons.

In terms of revenue, exports generated USD 1.1 billion in October, against USD 424.6 million in the same period last year. The average price per ton was USD 5,852.30.

The external sales of poultry meat totaled 362.9 thousand tons in October, a growth of 0.3% over the same month in 2021, with a daily average of 19.1 tons.

Revenue from exports of fresh poultry rose 17.2% year-on-year to USD 751.3 million.

Pork shipments also rose last month, to 90,200 tons, a 1.7% increase – with a daily average of 4.7 tons. Revenue totaled USD 223 million, up from USD 203.3 million in October 2021.
