In the early days of 2022, Brazilian beef shipments abroad gained strength, especially driven by the resumption of Chinese imports and the favorable exchange rate. Compared to the first two weeks of January 2021, there was a 34.3% increase in average daily shipments this year.
In the first two weeks of January, sales have reached 72 thousand tons. The expectation is that the numbers will achieve higher levels because, in relation to the first week of the year, the increase was 3% for the second week, with 36.53 thousand tons of beef shipped.
According to analysts, if shipments continue in this pace, Brazil should export around 140,000 tons of red protein in January. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC), in the same period of 2021, the country exported 107.3 thousand tons.
