Brazilian exports of fresh beef and poultry reached a new record for the month of April, according to partial data for the month (up to the 26th). The data is from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC).
Brazil exported 203.8 thousand tons of fresh beef in the first twenty working days of April, surpassing the previous record of 157.4 thousand tons in April 2022. The volume exported in the period is almost double the total exported in the entire month last year – when 110.1 thousand tons were shipped.
Revenue from exports of fresh beef amounted to USD 923.3 million in the first 20 working days of April, 75.7% higher than that recorded in April of last year.
According to the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), the strong volume of beef exports in the month should help to balance the domestic supply more, signaling greater stability to the market in the short term.
Poultry meat
Exports of fresh poultry meat totaled 421.6 thousand tons until the 26th of April, above the previous record of 407.9 thousand tons for the entire month, in April last year.
Revenue from exports totaled USD 760.5 million in the first 20 working days of April this year, a decrease of 1.4% compared to the previous year, due to the lower average price per ton shipped – USD 1,803.9 compared to USD 1,890.3 in April of last year.
