In October, Brazilian chicken meat exports surpassed by 24.2% the shipments registered in the same period last year. 397.1 thousand tons were shipped to different markets, while in 2020 this number was 319.7 thousand tons. The research was brought by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).
In revenue, sales of chicken meat to the international market have reached USD 715.2 million, a performance 60.1% higher than the one achieved in October 2020.
From January to October this year, the shipped volume was 10.45% larger than the same period last year. Brazil has increased exports from 3,498 to 3,864 million tons. The revenue shows a growth of 25.1%, from USD 5,066 billion in 2020 to USD 6,339 billion in 2021.
“There was a widespread growth in the export destinations for Brazilian chicken meat in October, maintaining the positive forecast made by ABPA for the year 2021. At the same time, the significant raise in export revenue has balanced the impacts of increases in production costs accumulated since last year”, according to the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
The main importers of Brazilian chicken meat have increased consumption in October. China received 51.2 thousand tons (+2.5%); Japan, 47.2 thousand tons (+60.4%), United Arab Emirates, 43.6 thousand tons (+108.1%), South Africa, 23.6 thousand tons (+1.3%), and European Union, 19.7 thousand tons (+49.6%).
