In the last 25 years, Brazil has increased the volume of chicken meat shipped abroad by 535%. From 1975 to 2000, exports remained below one million tons and, from 2001 on, exceeded this mark. The growth has been continuous, and since 2004, the country is the main exporter in the world.
In 2021, according to data from Secex/ME, the volume nearly reached 4.250 million tons, which means a growth 6.3 times greater in relation to the approximately 660 thousand tons in 1997. In terms of revenue, the number was 7.6 times higher, from US$ 912.8 million to US$ 6.953 billion.
