Brazil increases chicken exports and volume is 8% higher in 2021

In the first seven months of this year, Brazilian chicken meat exports totaled 2.7 million tons. The number is 8% higher than that registered in the same period last year (2.4 million tons) and, in revenue, there was an increase of 15.7% over the period.

According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), compared to July 2020, the volume shipped abroad was 16.4% higher last month becoming the third best result in history (424.4 thousand tons).

“The economic recovery of several importing countries and the substantial increase in the number of vaccinated people against covid in the world have contributed to the volumes achieved in recent months”, said the director of Markets at ABPA, Luis Rua. “The trend is for high volumes in exports until the end of the year.”

In second place, Japan bought 35.7 thousand tons (+2.6%), followed by the United Arab Emirates with 34 thousand tons (+75.7%) and South Africa with 24.6 thousand tons (+36% ).
