Brazil will host the 2024 edition of the International Animal Protein Show (SIAVS) from August 6th to 8th in São Paulo. The event, one of the most significant in the meat processing sector, is organized by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA).
SIAVS will bring together more than 100 Brazilian brands, including companies and cooperatives producing and exporting poultry, pork, beef, eggs, and fish. The organization expects 25,000 people to attend the event over the three days, with 10% of the audience being farmers.
The Garra International team will be at the event to meet its current partners and clients and build new connections in the industry.
The company operates in more than ten countries and serves clients in over 60 markets, acting as a one-stop shop for producers and buyers of beef, poultry, pork, lamb, buffalo, and duck. In addition, it offers solutions at all stages of international trade for these products: financial, logistical, operational, and marketing.
Exports
This year, SIAVS will be held while the Brazilian government is working to fully resume the country’s poultry exports, after the confirmation of a Newcastle Disease case in the state of Rio Grande do Sul led to suspensions for more than 40 destinations.
Currently, only ten blockages remain in place, with six market restrictions to production from Rio Grande do Sul (Saudi Arabia, Chile, Russia, Peru, Uruguay, and Bolivia). On the other hand, Brazilian poultry shipments as a whole, regardless of its origin within the country, to China, Argentina, Mexico, and North Macedonia are still suspended.
Due to the suspensions, ABPA revised its forecast for poultry exports in 2024 downwards, to up to 5.25 million tons this year. The previous estimate was 5.3 million tons. However, the numbers still predict a record in shipments.
