Beef prices remain heated in Brazil and, according to a Farmnews survey, from January 1st to June 10th this year the average price was R$ 306.6 per arroba, a result 53.2% higher than observed in the same period of 2020 (R$ 200.2).
The good export pace and the animal supply reduction for slaughter support these prices and expectations for the future price of the arroba remain optimistic. For October, the projected price remains above R$ 330, around 25% higher than the price charged in October 2020.
The goodwill for calf arroba prices compared to live cattle prices, remains above 40% for the fourth consecutive month. According to data from Cepea, from January to May, there was a variation of R$ 365 to R$ 436.9 in the price of the arroba of the calf. In the same period, the price of an arroba of cattle ranged between R$ 273.7 and R$ 316.2.
