After registering record exports in January, Brazil ends another month with a large volume of beef shipped abroad. Last month, exports reached 159.1 thousand tons, which represents an increase of 55.8% compared to the volume shipped in February 2020.
According to data from the Brazilian Secretariat for Foreign Trade, the billing result was even better, with an increase of 91.9% in the analyzed period. In February this year, revenue was US$ 889.4 million.
For market analysts, the expectation is that beef shipments will remain heated in the next few months, with monthly sales exceeding the 140,000 tons mark.
Even with the increase in exports to other countries, such as Australia and the United States, China remains the main driver of international beef trade. In addition to the large volume traded, the Chinese motivate the increase in cattle’s prices in the Brazilian market.
